Femmes Romaines : Festival Arelate 2010

Cette année le festival Arelate a voulu mettre en avant la féminité et le rôle de la femme dans l'antiquité, sujet souvent moins mis en valeur car les légionnaires et les gladiateurs sont souvent les vedettes du festival. Ce sujet m'avais déjà touchée l'année dernière et j'espère continuer mon travail avec ces femmes passionnées.

This year the festival 'Arelate' wanted to promote the femininity and the role of the woman in Roman Times, a subject often less valorised than the legionnaires and gladiators who are often the stars of the Festival. This is a subject that interested me a lot last year and I hope to continue this work with these passionate women.

Itinéraires Insolites : Arelate 2010

L'itinéraire insolite est un parcours graphique et commenté sur le thème ici de l'Arles antique.

Des peintures  (encre de chine sur craft) représentants des personnages emblématiques sont collés sur les murs de la ville et Mike emmène les spectateurs en relatant la vie réel et imaginaire des personnages.

The 'alternative stroll' is an accompanied graphic journey on the theme of Roman Arles. The paintings (chinese ink on brown paper) represent symbolic figures which are glued on the walls of the city and then Mikes takes a group of people around relating the real and imaginary life of these people.

We had the great pleasure and honour to meet this amazing, intelligent and articulate lady who has survived 2 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and who now dedicates part of her time working on the memory, understanding and grief of the American people and visitors of Ground Zero.

Nous avons l'honneur et le plaisir de rencontrer lolita Jackson, survivante aux deux attentas du World trade Center. femme d'une intelligence concise qui dorénavant consacre son temps à un travail de mémoire, de partage, de compréhension et de deuil auprès du peuple Américain et des visiteurs du Ground Zéro.

Observations in NY

NY & Washington

We accompanied 8 young rappers and 2 young journalists from La Courneuve in Paris which is part of an ongoing project with Monte Laster and his association FACE. The next step will be to bring a group of girls from Harlem to Paris. This is also being done in partnership with the Harlem Biennale. A trip that was immensely tiring but above all interesting and thought provoking, including meeting a survivor of 9/11, visiting a school in the Bronx, the housing project 'The Polo Grounds', going to the white house and being invited to a soiree with Ambassadors from French speaking countries.

Nous avons accompagné 8 jeunes rappeurs et 2 journalistes de la Courneuve à Paris dans le cadre des projets de l'association FACE de Monté Laster. La prochaine étape du projet sera la venue de jeunes filles d'Harlem à Paris.Tout cela a été réalisé en partenariat avec la biennale d'Harlem. Ce voyage a été très éprouvant mais très intéressant et bouleversant, comme la rencontre avec une survivante des attentats du 11 septembre, la visite d'un école du Bronx, le projet social du Polo Ground, la visite de la Maison Blanche et une soirée avec les ambassadeurs francophones.

We are back!!!!

After a very long break, we have finally found a moment to start blogging again. We will start from where we left off, beginning with a trip to NY & Washington, followed by our work for a museum, trips to Italy and Macedonia to the point where we started this blog for the festival 'Arelate'.

Après un long break (arrêt), nous avons finalement retrouvé le temps de blogger de nouveau. Nous commencerons rétrospectivement avec un voyage à New-York et Washington, suivit d'un travail avec un musée, des ballades en Italie et en Macédoine, jusqu'au festival d'Arelate par lequel nous avions commencé ce blog.
